COVID-19 Procedures + Policies

Before coming to Allegra Dance Greenwich or before sending your child to Allegra Dance Greenwich, we want to make sure you understand that in light of the current medical, legal and economic conditions resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, and recognizing that these conditions are subject to abrupt changes at any time, you are attending Allegra Dance Greenwich or sending your child to Allegra Dance Greenwich, under the following conditions. While we wish that we could control every possible risk, we will use our best efforts to keep you and/or your child safe from the COVID-19 virus.

We want to make clear that we cannot promise or guarantee that this or any other pathogen will not enter Allegra Dance Greenwich, and that by the very nature of the personal interaction that takes place at Allegra Dance Greenwich, there is always a risk of you and/or your child becoming ill with this or any other communicable disease. We want you to be fully aware of this risk in making the decision to attend and/or send your child to Allegra Dance Greenwich, and that you are willing to assume and accept it on you and your child’s behalf. 

Please carefully read the following information. You will be asked to fill out a Health Questionnaire each time you come to the studio for class and sign our Safety-First Assumption of Risk/Waiver of Liability. STUDENTS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO TAKE CLASS WITHOUT THESE FORMS. COVID-19 PROCEDURES + POLICIES

  • Students will be allowed to enter the studio 5 minutes prior to class start time.

  • Due to the restrictions of socializing, parents are asked to stay outside with students until they have to entered the studio and to please be at the studio when students are released from class.

  • No one other than the student will be allowed into the studio (unless the student is 2.5 -5 years. 1 parent ONLY will be allowed into the studio for pick up and drop off and will be required to submit Health Questionnaire, have temperature taken and wear a mask) - LOBBY AREA IS NOT OPEN.

  • Dancers are required to wear a mask upon entering and exiting the studio. Once placed in their socially distanced spots, dancers (ages 6 and up) should keep their mask on. The only time students will be allowed to take off their mask is if they are going across the floor, one at a time, breathing a lot with movement. Staff will be required to wear a mask at all times. Masks are available to purchase ($2.00 ea.) for dancers that do not have one.

  • Students are to come dressed in their class attire with hair in the appropriate style, wearing flip flops or slide style shoes for easy-off/easy-on, carrying their dance shoes.

  • NO cell phones are allowed in the studio unless they are a student driver. Students will NOT be allowed to bring backpacks, food, etc to the studio, only the required footwear and water.

  • Students are not to remove any clothing once they have entered the studio.

  • Students will  then walk up the stairs to the (SMALL STUDIO during Cohort/Zoom Schedule) (Front Door during SEMI-Normal Schedule) where they will use the No-Touch Hand Sanitizer to cleanse their hands and have their temperature taken and turn in their Health Questionnaire. All students attending classes at the studio will be required to sign an updated waiver/release form and submit a Health Questionnaire each day they come to the studio for class.

  • Students must have their temperature taken in the (SMALL STUDIO during Cohort/Zoom Schedule) (Front Door during SEMI-Normal Schedule) upon entering to continue into class. If a student has a fever (OVER 100F), COUGHING, SNEEZING, SHORTNESS OF BREATH, PERSISTENT PAIN, TIGHTNESS IN CHEST, NAUSEA, DIZZINESS or symptoms recognized by the CDC, they are not to attend class at the studio but may participate online. This also applies if anyone in their household has a COUGHING, SNEEZING, SHORTNESS OF BREATH, PERSISTENT PAIN, TIGHTNESS IN CHEST, NAUSEA, DIZZINESS or symptoms recognized by the CDC.

  • Students, after having their temperature taken in the (SMALL STUDIO during Cohort/Zoom Schedule) (Front Door during SEMI-Normal Schedule), will then report immediately to the (BIG STUDIO during Cohort/Zoom Schedule) (BIG STUDIO AND SMALL STUDIO during SEMI-Normal Schedule). Students will change their shoes in the (BIG STUDIO during Cohort/Zoom Schedule) (BIG STUDIO AND SMALL STUDIO during SEMI-Normal Schedule), placing their street shoes in a cubby in a bench and proceed to designated spot on the dance floor.

  • If students are attending only one class, we strongly encourage them to use the restroom at home. 

  • If students use the restroom at the studio, cleaning supplies will be supplied to wipe down all areas before and after use. There will be a designated bathroom for students and teachers.

  • PARENTS, PLEASE GO OVER THE REOPENING PROCEDURES WITH YOUR CHILD BEFORE THEY RETURN TO Allegra Dance Greenwich.

  • ANY STUDENT THAT HAS BEEN EXPOSED TO FAMILY OR FRIENDS THAT HAVE TESTED POSITIVE FOR COVID-19 WILL HAVE TO QUARANTINE FOR 14 DAYS AND TAKE CLASSES ON ZOOM. IF A STUDENT OR STAFF MEMBER TESTS POSITIVE FOR COVID -19, THE STUDIO WILL CLOSE IN STUDIO CLASSES FOR 14 DAYS AND KEEP CLASSES GOING ON ZOOM.
